In pro-social time last week 2CP enjoyed playing some team games whilst ensuring they used their indoor voices. We had a sound monitor with bouncy balls on the board and our aim was not to alert it, otherwise it told us to be quiet! 2CP did really well with this, we had two rounds, first round it went off four times and the second time, zero.

In Year 2 maths, we have been exploring money. We set up some shops and practised making different amounts so that we could buy different items. The customers had to go and collect the exact amount of coins or notes from the bank and the shopkeeper had to check they were correct. If they weren't correct the shopkeepers were challenged with telling the customers what they had done wrong or which coins they were missing. The following day we worked on giving change from a given amount, this was more difficult but they enjoyed the challenge.

We have been so lucky last week in Reception to experience such 'awe and wonder'. After discovering a large birds nest we were left asking lots of questions and wondering where had it come from? Who had it belonged to? And how had it been made. Observing tadpoles inspired us to learn about the lifecycle of a frog and the beautiful sunshine brought shadows for us to be artistic.

We had another great week in Nursery. The children have loved 'Rosie's Walk,' our book of the week, and an old favourite. They have learned about different journeys, positional language and direction, in many ways - through our Welly Walk, topic activities, Maths and more. The children made a text map of the story and then used clear instructions between each other to build an obstacle course. They created a walk for Rosie using wooden blocks and drew maps of her journey. We also went on our own version of Rosie's walk around the school! The children have really enjoyed the warmer weather which has allowed us to be outside and enjoy new activities
