Year 6 PGL Residential Week

Year 6 Residential trip 2023As you may be aware,Year 6 children normally have a residential trip in the summer term.We have therefore made a provisional booking at Liddington in Wiltshire –an outdoor education centre run by PGL. We will be leaving school at 9.30am on Monday19th June 2023 and returning at lunchtime on Friday 23rd June 2023. This PGL site has extensive activities at the centre that are designed to encourage personal skills and team development and build upon the children’s independence in preparation for their move to secondary school. We investigated several activity centres this year to compare cost and quality and have decided that PGL offers the best value for money and experience for your child.Nearer departure there will be a meeting dealing with details such as kit lists, medical and travel information. A programme of activities will be agreed in conjunction with the centre nearer the time.We understand this trip is a large financial commitment, so the cost will be spread over a period of time. The overall cost includes accommodation, all meals, bedding, return travel, insurance, school costs and staffing, as well as the full programme of challenging activities with qualified instructors through the days and evenings.The cost for the week will be£440.00 and we ask that you pay for the trip in instalments over the next year until May 2023.All payments should be made via School Gateway.There are 2 payments set up on the school gateway, one is the deposit and the other is the remaining amount to be paid. Initially, we require the Consent form to be returned and non-refundable deposit of £50 paid by Friday 14th October.This is required to secure an early booking discount included in the above cost as it is such a popular week. The turn-around date to confirm your child’s place is quite quick, but as you can imagine, we need to secure the booking,if the trip is to go ahead.Thereafter,we require you to make regular instalments and would suggest, £50 each month,as a payment plan. The full cost of the trip should be paid off by Tuesday 30th May 2023.If you have any concerns about the payment schedule, please contact us to discuss what we can do to help.
