Nursery Wild Kites Trip

Dear Nursery Parents, On Tuesday 7th May, during the morning session we are planning to take the Nursery children on a walk to ‘Wild Kites’ Forest School site at Tring School, for a short play session and a drink and snack. The Visit We would begin with all the children sitting down to listen to a safety briefing from the Wild Kites team about the site and have a drink and a snack. The children will be told a short interactive story to help the children to explore the site. The Forest School ethos encourages as much child-led free play as possible, so there are activities set up to appeal to a range of ages, abilities and interests, such as a sensory nature table, a physical woodland course and tightrope, a mud kitchen, digging pit, giant chalk boards, role play ship and bug hunting. At the end of the session the children will come back to "basecamp" to share what they've found and to reflect on the visit. We will be leaving the Nursery at approximately 9.15am, walking to the ‘Wild Kites’ Forest School for a session 9.45am - 10.45am, then walking back to Nursery. We will walk across the school field and around Tring School to get to the ‘Wild Kites’ site, situated behind Tring Sports Centre. If your child does not attend Nursery on a Tuesday, then we would like to invite your child to come along and meet us at the entrance to Tring Sports Centre at 9.45am. You will need to stay with your child so that ratios are compliant. Unfortunately we are not able to have younger or older siblings at the session. We will require a number of parent helpers to enable this trip to take place. As a parent helper you will be responsible for a maximum of 3 children, which would include your own child. We are not able to have adults with younger children or children in pushchairs. Please let us know if you can help! The cost per child will be £3.75, which includes admission fees and insurance. Please make this payment on our payment system, School Gateway. (www.schoolgateway.com). In the comment section, please state if you can help! This needs to be completed by Tuesday 30th April. If we find on the day, the weather is not favourable, we will rearrange the visit later in the summer term. Please make sure your child wears suitable footwear/clothing for walking in, suitable for the weather conditions on the day. If it is damp outside, the children will need a waterproof coat and wellies and waterproof trousers if you have them. They will also need a water bottle with water in. Nursery will provide a snack.
