Dear Year 2 Parents,
Hampton Court Palace
On Tuesday 12th May, in connection with Year 2’s topic of King of the Castle, we have arranged a
very exciting trip to visit Hampton Court Palace.
The cost per child will be £14.50, which includes admission costs and transport. We are very grateful
this trip has been part funded by Friends of Grove (FOG).
On the day the children should wear their school uniform and a waterproof coat. All children will
require a healthy packed lunch (no chocolate!) and drink(s) for this trip – Please remember your
water bottles! They will also require a small rucksack to carry their belongings in, which they will
carry with them all day.
Please apply sun cream before arrival at school.
If you would prefer school to supply a school packed lunch for this trip, we can do this, as a part of
UiFSM. Please enter either Own (you will provide) or Tuna or Cheese in the comment section
on the School Gateway for their choice of sandwich before Thursday 30th April, as we will need
to order the food in advance from Herts Catering. After this date, you will be required to provide
a packed lunch for the trip.
We also require a small number of adult helpers. Please speak to your class teacher if you are
available to help. Unfortunately, we are limited on the number of helpers, due to ratios and seats on
the coach.
Children will need to be at school promptly at 8.20am on this day and we plan to be back by 3.15-
3.30pm, traffic permitting.
If your child suffers from travel sickness, please also notify us prior to the trip as medication forms
need to be completed prior to the trip. Travel sickness medication must come in its’ original
packaging with dosing amount. Forms are available from the school office.
