In Year 3 science we moved onto looking at our bodies and first up, our skeleton. The children had a very active, hands on lesson where in teams they had to build a skeleton! They had to think very carefully about where each bone went. We then stated that a skeleton is a framework of bones that supports the body, protects organs and helps us to move.

There was a lost dog at school yesterday! Year 1 are starting their new 'Journey Tale' unit in English this week and will be using the book 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers. They wanted to help the lost dog so made posters and put them up around the school. They were delighted when they heard that the dog had been reunited with its owner.

In Art yesterday Year 1 learnt about carving into a styrofoam tile. We practised how much pressure to use in order to create a successful mark. We then learnt how to apply ink using a roller and how to print onto paper. We finished our prints this morning. We will use these skills again in a couple of weeks when we create our final tile designs influenced by our key artist.

In our pro-social time last Friday Year 1 were learning how to share and take turns. We enjoyed choosing a partner and sharing a pot of bubbles. We had to look after the bubble pot so that it did not spill and take turns to blow / pop bubbles. It was so much fun to see the beautiful bubbles and to run after them to pop them. A fun lesson enjoyed by all!
